About the messaging program
LeadResponse is a missed-call text-back service operated by LeadResponse, LLC. We send text messages on behalf of the trade businesses that use it (plumbers, electricians, HVAC and similar). When you call one of those businesses and nobody answers, we text you from the business’s number so your request isn’t lost. Every conversation starts by naming that business.
How you opt in
We only text people who contact the business first. You opt in by doing one of these:
- Calling the business and not reaching anyone. When the call goes unanswered, you hear a short recorded message saying a text is on its way, and we text the number you called from so you can describe what you need. By calling the business to ask for service, you agree to get a text reply and to continue the conversation by text about your request.
- Texting a number the business uses with our service. We reply to help with your request.
We never text numbers from a purchased or shared list, and we don’t send marketing messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
What we send
Messages are only about the request you made:
- a first text after your missed call, or a reply to your text, ending with how to opt out
- a few questions about the job: the problem, your name, the address, and when works best
- if it sounds urgent, a text saying the business has been alerted
- a confirmation that the business will get back to you
Texts are sent using automated technology, and an AI assistant writes most replies. The business gets a summary of your request, can read the conversation, and can pause the assistant and take over at any time.
How often
Message frequency varies with the conversation, typically 1 to 10 messages per call.

Opting out and getting help
- Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT or REVOKE) at any time to stop receiving messages from that business. You’ll get no further texts from it unless you opt back in.
- Reply START (or UNSTOP) to opt back in.
- Reply HELP (or INFO) for help, or email [email protected].
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
